FCC requirement: "wired, wireless, and satellite...are required to provide information on any outages to the FCC through its Network Outage Reporting System (NORS). http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/09/17/fcc_mandates_reporting_submarine_cable_outages/ But, it appears that public access may not be available on FCC's network. I did come across this website tonight: https://downdetector.com/status/exede/map I'm not awre of ViaSat/Exede posting their glitches.

I have been experiencing quite a bit of trouble from my isp lately. I'm thinking either a questionable modem or install. Here is my info from 192.168.100.1 If this information is meaningful to anyone (lol) I would very much appreciate any advice or interpretation. Thanks Rx Power: -46.6 dBm Rx SNR: 8.4 dBm Cable Resistance: 1.0 Ohm Cable Attenuation: 18.6 dB Tx IF Power: -35.5 dBm Tx RF Power: 14.5 dBm Additionally, LAN works but the light is out (doesn't even light up when I unplug+plugin my modem) on my Surfbeam 2 modem. If that means anything. Thank You!

North America OUT of new IPv4 addresses

"North America has officially run dry of new IPv4 addresses, the numbers that computers use to find each other on the internet. This means the region can allocate no more of the 32-bit network addresses to web hosting companies, cloud providers, organizations and individuals: they're all taken. [WildBlue] Wildblu stopped loading some pages and getting worse! PLZ HELP!

$

Various secure web pages fail to load? Started out with random outages then 2 weeks str8 no loading back to random and now 100% failure. Im LOST and BEG for HELP! I have had Wildblu over a year and its been a very frustrating experience! About 2 months ago I had a web page I use for work fail to load. After 10-15 hours with Tech Support I made it to NOCH . After L2 and NOCH started "working on it" the problem s 25x worse than ever. I am begging for help if you cant hear it in my typing. Since day 1 I would have random failures for secure pages at times; no web pages would load but I could still use Skype, VOIP, and some web applications. Historically Tech Support would say there were too many customers in my area and by Sept - Oct '15 a new Sat would launch that would have the issue solved. Once months back: I had a two week period where NOTHING would work and the day before the tech arrived to check the issue it magically started working. Since then I have not had extended periods of nothing working. A few months ago I noticed the failure for secure pages increasing. 4-6 weeks ago I was logged into a page and it locked up. Since the I have had 1 Full day and a handful of successful loads. MyContactual, 8x8, Eyebeam, Xlite, kcoj.kycourts.net/dockets and several other pages just will not load from this location with wildblu. ALL These I NEED for work or are very important to me. **I can VPN into another computer from Wildblu and log into the pages, I can use cell data and log in as well. So I know its not a web page issue. Prior to NOCH getting involved the outages were isolated to a page or two failing at the same time but for the last 3 weeks plus short of VPN to another computer I am at 100% failure. I am desperate at this point because I am faced with buying a repeater and trashing the wildblu or giving up my life dream of living 'out here' and living off the land, moving somewhere wildblu isnt my only option or quitting my job (that will kill my dream of living off the land or postpone it for years). PLEASE HELP! Error messages are usually: Firefox = Secure Connection Failed: The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. IE= This page can’t be displayed •Make sure the web address https://www.mycontactual.com is correct. •Look for the page with your search engine. •Refresh the page in a few minutes. Chrome = This webpage is not available ERR_CONNECTION_RESET Also I have purchased a new PC fresh out of the box same issue. I have tried Win7 Pro (2 PCs), Win7 Enterprise, Ipad, and even iPhone on wifi all same issues. I have tested the wired devices with the modem only in line. If I didnt make it clear Please help I am at the point of begging! I do have wireshark but its a bit above my knowledge. Modem losing sync when past data cap

I've been a customer for 7 months on the 12mbs 10gb plan. 20gb promo just ran out. I have always hit my cap monthly, and was throttled to real speeds of about 30kb/s. Starting last month, I would keep losing sync every few hours randomly, even if I were not doing anything online. It was as if a storm was passing by and all of my devices lose internet for few minutes. The modem status page checkmarks go from "Syncing.. ranging.. DHCP.." then back online, faster than I can get a screenshot. I called the local resellers tech support and said they couldnt do anything without a work order. So I was transfered to Exede support who made the work order, a tech came out, and they informed me the modem has never went offline, and they could see all the red marks every few hours but said it was my router and needed to be replaced. Following their advice I direct connected my computer directly to the modem, and the problem persisted. Called back, and they said it was because I've used 13gb out of 10gb, and the only option is to buy more data. I told the rep that my modem should not lose sync just because I am capped, and she would only try to sell me more gigs until she hung up on me after refusing to transfer me to a supervisor or other rep. I hope that call was recorded for "quality assurance". I called the local office back to explain what had just happened, they called Exede back 3 way to explain the situation, and long story short they gave me an extra 1 GB for the month and so far I haven't been disconnected at all, even after hooking my router back up. All I can say is this is the worst service I can ever imagine, and I was a Hughesnet customer for 2 years prior to this. And I was FAP'd every month on Hughes as well, but they never disconnected me every few hours. I can live with slow service, but I need reliable service. Sitting in an IRC room and leaving/rejoining room over and over is embarrassing as well, and I use other remote connections that need to be offline as little as possible. It's upsetting to see how Exede handles this situation. I'm not sure if they do this to be purposefully annoying just to get me to buy data, or perhaps its just a symptom of their throttling system, but I can certainly say this never happened on Hughes. If I find a way to get out of the contract without having to pay the ETF I'm taking it. On a sidenote, I have a dialup account with another company but they disconnect you every 8 hours no matter what. I used to have an ISP that was truly unlimited, but its no longer in business. Others I have looked at disconnect every 4 hours. So if anyone knows dialup service that is truly unlimited it would be much better better than Exede for me.

So, how long for 30 to 60 GBs on Liberty Pass?

So, anyone that really uses the internet (During the LNFZ) now.. How long does it take to get 30-60 GBs on your Liberty plan after you blow past the first tiny caps ? I'm going to assume you are going to wipe out your connection on the downloads when it's down to 1 Mbps and make the rest of the browsing unejoyable for all the rest of the users in the house ?

The host of my alternative email address went out of business, and their server's forever offline. Anybody using a second server source for email? I don't have, need, or even want my own domain... just a second email address only, unaffiliated with Wildblue. Preferably cheap or free, natch. And no snarky Platte River Networks references, please. Thanks, Cave-In

Modem Update? SW Version: UT_3.7.0.3.0

Lost internet this morning at 8:30a local. Made a quick scramble to alternate system while on a long phone call ... then started investigating the problem nearly 2 hours later. Rebooted everything ... but could not reach the Modem Status page through my normal measures (home WiFi router > Modem). Connected ethernet directly to the modem and found the comms between modem and TRIA: 'No Workie.' (That is a worrisome status! Went outside to check my dish ... phew, all looks well from a distant, visual inspection). Phoned Exede Customer Service for Support. Nope, they were experiencing a system outage (affecting Dallas area but not necessarily me). "Please try again in 1 hour?" Great. Eventually, my modem page updated to show a system download in progress. Twenty minutes later: we are up and running. SW Version now shows: UT_3.7.0.3.0 Anyone else? Any known urgencies that caused such a large "timeout" during the start of the (local) business day? EDITED TO ADD: So reading back in the forum, I see y'all reported this update in JULY. I wonder if mine needed to reload it ... or if my modem really was behind on its updates. Sure was a long hiccup (2+ hours of outage).

[Exede] Take care all!

Well, I have been pretty quiet in here for some time now since I beta'd WildBlue, then Exede. I was with Exede for well over 2 years, and this past weekend, I decided to leave them. I now have Verizon LTE to the Home (Formerly Fusion), and I get the same bucket for about the same price. I don't get the free time at night, but frankly, I never used it with Exede. Us old folks sleep during those hours anyway. So, for now, its goodbye to this forum, but I will certainly come back and read posts from time to time. I will say that the cancellation process was super simple, but I am through an NRTC supplier which is what I touted all along. I called, they shut it off, and I had to ship back the modem, power supply, and Tria. Take care all! "The new 25 Mbps offering is paired with an upstream that provides up to 3 Mbps. ViaSat said the new WiFi modem with the 25-meg capability is offered in “limited markets” with service plans that start “as low as $10 per month [more] than the cost of Exede 12 Mbps service plans.” According to a company official, the new plan costs $10 extra for most plans, and $20, if added to the company’s promotional $39.99 plan in some areas." http://www.multichannel.com/news/distribution/viasat-roll-25-meg-satellite-broadband/395430 http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/morning_call/2015/11/viasats-exede-nternet-for-rural-customers-gets.html?ana=e_den_rdup&s=newsletter&ed=2015-11-20&u=rFuEtNnpCoSO1qd%2BFguvKNdYeb8&t=1448034188

[Exede] Maybe going back to Exede, "Liberty" and contract questions

$

I noticed Exede has a new "Liberty" gimmick. It states that when your bandwidth allotment is over you "might" receive speeds between 1-5mbps. (Incidentally, that's better than what Windstream is providing me 24/7). The "might" is that it might (probably) won't even be that fast. My question for current users that have had the previous type of restricted connection, pre-Liberty: Is it actually any better than it was before? I mean when I was a customer, when my bandwidth ran out I was sub 500kbps and a bit worse at times but never above that. Overall, is the service any better than it was about 6 or 7 months ago? The other question, is there a possibility a returning customer can waive the contract or at the very least get a reduction on it?
